In this exciting role as Business Development Manager, you'll be responsible for the delivery of the North America point of sale revenue and commercial targets, generated via all B2B (indirect) and B2C (direct) channels within our West Coast and Texas region.  

Reporting into the Head of North America, you'll support and deliver point of sale revenue strategy within the West Coast and Texas regions and channels working optimally across Commercial teams within Virgin Atlantic and our eJV partners. Collaborating with B2B customers, trade associations, developing partnerships and working side by side with the Delta Air Lines organization in the achievement of clear goals Virgin Atlantic and Joint Venture goals to the UK and beyond. This role will provide regional Commercial, brand and customer leadership.  

Day to day

  • Be the Commercial in-market point of contact identifying and delivering action plans across our West Coast and Texas markets 
  • Play a leading role in the development of clear plans within the West Coast and Texas across all channels. Ensuring day-to-day selling activity meets the objectives of the business 
  • Play an active role developing and implementing tactical activities to drive incremental revenue within West and Texas channels, working alongside Delta and direct with customers. 
  • Build productive and long-lasting relationships with key joint venture partners and develop partnerships with customer focused organizations in related industries including Media and Technology 
  • Provide a strong external voice for Virgin Atlantic Airways with key customer segments (Corporate customers, Distribution partners, Travel Industry Organizations and Delta Air Lines counterparts). 
  • Demonstrate a clear ability to interpret, understand and drive performance within channels within the West Coast and Texas region 
  • Ensure Virgin Atlantic is consistently represented within region and channel 
  • The primary point of contact with regional leaders and customers to ensure we remain Best in Partnering 
  • Support the representation of the US customer within the operations organization 

About you

Do you have a proven track record of delivery through collaboration in a revenue-focused role? Do you have demonstrable analytical skills with ability to combine strategic direction with hands-on, tactical execution of programs? Then this could be the role for you! 

Alongside the above we're looking for the following: 
  • Proven business management and cross-commercial skills 
  • Ability to set direction and deliver against the plan at a regional and channel level 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence with impact at all levels 
  • Interpretation of data to align the team and build clear opportunities by channel, region and customer segment 
  • Ability to manage T&E Budget 
  • Proven leadership and people management skills  
  • Knowledge in airline sales and Commercial performance desirable 
  • The right to work and live within the US, alongside ability to travel up the West Coast and to the UK
